Mbappe Under Fire at Real Madrid Amid Reports of Dressing Room Friction

Tension is reportedly building inside Real Madrid, with Kylian Mbappe at the centre of growing unrest linked to his recent behaviour.

According to L’Equipe, several players within the squad have become increasingly frustrated with the 27-year-old forward, citing concerns over his attitude both during matches and away from the pitch. The situation has reportedly created a divide within the dressing room.

Claims suggest Mbappe has displayed a self-focused approach that has not gone down well at the club. Reports indicate he has been afforded privileges that others view as excessive, further fuelling dissatisfaction among teammates.

Incidents highlighted include alleged disrespect towards a staff member during training and arriving 40 minutes late for a team lunch. It is also claimed that no disciplinary action followed either situation, which has added to the frustration inside the camp.

As tensions continue, Mbappe is said to be drifting away from the wider group. Marca reports that he is increasingly distant, maintaining close relationships only with fellow French players such as Ferland Mendy, Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga.

Despite ongoing injury problems throughout the 2025–26 season, Mbappe has still delivered impressive individual numbers, scoring 41 goals in all competitions. Earlier in the year, L’Equipe reported that the former Paris Saint-Germain player had contacted club president Florentino Perez with a request regarding medical treatment.

That development followed controversy surrounding a knee scan, after Mbappe was forced to deny claims that the wrong knee had been examined.

Further reports from Spain suggest his injury, sustained during a draw with Real Betis, may have also provided an opportunity to step away from the team environment. It is claimed he wanted distance from both teammates and coaching staff.

L’Equipe also reports that Mbappe’s trip to Italy with actress Ester Exposito caused significant displeasure among fans and many within the club. The timing, ahead of a crucial Clasico meeting with Barcelona, was reportedly viewed as poor preparation.

On the pitch, reports of friction persist. Alleged tensions with Jude Bellingham and a strained relationship with manager Alvaro Arbeloa continue to circulate. There are also suggestions of dissatisfaction over the team’s reliance on Vinicius Junior.

With Madrid’s season falling short—losing ground in the league title race and exiting the Champions League against Bayern Munich—pressure is mounting. Arbeloa’s position is under scrutiny, while Jose Mourinho has been linked with a potential return, a possibility Mbappe previously appeared to endorse on social media.
