The wage agreement means Barcelona will pay the entirety of Rashford’s £315,000-a-week salary throughout the loan term, easing Manchester United’s financial commitments.

‎Last season, Rashford experienced a turbulent campaign. Having fallen out of favour under newly appointed manager Ruben Amorim, he was sent out on loan to Aston Villa for the latter half of the season. His time at Villa Park proved moderately productive, with the forward contributing four goals and six assists across 17 appearances.

‎Although still under contract with Manchester United until the summer of 2028, Rashford has been training separately from the main squad during pre-season at Carrington. He has been joined by fellow out-of-favour players such as Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia.

‎Further evidence of Rashford’s looming departure came earlier this month when his iconic No.10 shirt at United was reassigned to summer signing Matheus Cunha. The symbolic move strongly indicated a shift in his standing at the club.

‎Since his debut in 2016, Rashford has made 426 appearances for Manchester United, scoring 138 goals and registering 77 assists. His silverware cabinet includes two EFL Cups, two FA Cups, and a UEFA Europa League title, highlighting his longstanding contribution to the Red Devils.

‎Barcelona’s summer transfer activity has been strategically focused. Under new head coach Hansi Flick, the club has already signed winger Roony Bardghji and goalkeeper Joan Garcia. Efforts to lure Spanish international Nico Williams ended unsuccessfully when the winger extended his stay with Athletic Bilbao by signing a decade-long contract.
