‎Liverpool Submit £35m Bid to Sign Crystal Palace Defender Marc Guehi

‎Liverpool have officially submitted a £35million proposal to sign defender Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace. The flat offer does not include add-ons, and Palace have yet to issue a formal response.

‎Selhurst Park officials are working on potential reinforcements in case Guehi departs, with the 25-year-old England international open to a move should the clubs reach an agreement. Talks remain cordial between Liverpool and Palace, reflecting the strong relationship between the two clubs.
‎Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has expressed his desire to keep Guehi, particularly given the late stage of the transfer window. However, the club is wary of losing the defender as a free agent next summer. Guehi is in the final year of his current contract and has shown no intention of signing an extension.
‎Guehi was the subject of heavy interest last summer, when Newcastle United had four bids rejected, the final offer rising to £65million including add-ons.
‎Since joining Crystal Palace from Chelsea in 2021, Guehi has made 155 first-team appearances and captained the club to their historic FA Cup final victory over Manchester City at Wembley in May. The win marked Palace’s first major trophy. On the international stage, he has represented England 23 times and played a key role in the squad that reached the Euro 2024 final.
‎Liverpool’s interest comes after Jarell Quansah’s £35million transfer to Bayer Leverkusen earlier this summer. Arne Slot now has Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, and Ibrahima Konate—who is also in the final year of his contract—as his only senior centre-back options.
‎The Reds have already seen a bid rejected for Newcastle striker Alexander Isak and have completed signings of Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez this summer. Meanwhile, Crystal Palace are close to securing the signing of teenage defender Jaydee Canvot from Toulouse.
