Mohamed Salah Wins PFA Players' Player of the Year 2025 After 29 Goals and 18 Assists

‎Mohamed Salah has written his name into English football history after being crowned the PFA Players’ Player of the Year for the 2024-25 season, securing the honor for a record third time.
‎The Egyptian forward was announced as the winner on Tuesday night at the Manchester Opera House, finishing ahead of top contenders including Bruno Fernandes and Alexander Isak. This achievement follows Salah’s previous victories in 2017-18 and 2021-22, making him the only player ever to claim the award three times.

‎Salah’s latest triumph reflects his outstanding season for Liverpool, where he contributed 29 goals and 18 assists to inspire the Reds to the Premier League title. His consistent impact proved decisive in securing the championship, with his performances once again cementing his status among the game’s elite.
‎The shortlist for the prestigious award also featured Arsenal’s Declan Rice, Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, and Liverpool’s Alexis Mac Allister. Isak, who netted heavily across the season and has been linked with a move to Anfield, finished second in the scoring charts behind Salah. Rice was a driving force for Arsenal, Palmer delivered key contributions despite a quieter finish, and Mac Allister thrived in Liverpool’s midfield trio alongside Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai. Fernandes stood out for Manchester United with eight goals and ten assists during a difficult campaign for the club.
‎Other notable winners at the PFA Awards 2024-25 included Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers, who claimed the PFA Young Player of the Year, Barcelona’s Mariona Caldentey, who secured the Women’s Super League honor, and James Trafford, who earned the Championship’s Player of the Year award following a standout season with Burnley before his move to Manchester City.
‎The Professional Footballers’ Association determines its award winners through a two-stage voting process, where players vote for peers but cannot select their own club teammates. The recognition is regarded as one of the highest honors in English football because it is voted on by fellow professionals.
‎Salah’s season was also notable for the speculation surrounding his future. Despite persistent transfer rumors, he maintained his form throughout the campaign before committing to a new contract extension at Anfield. With personal accolades secured and his future clarified, Salah now shifts focus back to the pitch as Liverpool prepare for their upcoming Premier League clash against Newcastle following their opening win over Bournemouth.
