Barcelona Hit with €90m Saudi Offer for Raphinha as Transfer Decision Nears

‎Barcelona may soon be confronted with a crucial transfer decision as clubs from the Saudi Pro League prepare a potential offer exceeding €90 million for Raphinha. While the financial package could prove tempting, the Brazilian forward remains committed to continuing his career in Spain, leaving the club to carefully consider its priorities.

‎According to Marca, teams in Saudi Arabia are ready to challenge Barcelona with a significant proposal that could surpass €90 million (£77m). The deal is also expected to include a highly attractive personal contract that would outmatch Raphinha’s current earnings in Catalonia. Despite the growing speculation, the 29-year-old is not seeking a move, particularly after extending his contract with Barcelona until 2028 in May 2025.
‎On the pitch, Raphinha has been one of Barcelona’s standout attacking contributors this season. He has recorded 19 goals and eight assists across 31 appearances, while also providing versatility across the frontline. However, injuries have interrupted his momentum, causing him to miss 23 matches for both club and country.
‎Barcelona’s leadership must now weigh his importance to the squad against ongoing financial challenges. The club is not rushing into any conclusions and prefers to wait for an official offer before assessing all aspects of the situation. Although selling Raphinha is not their preferred option, it remains a possibility as they aim to manage finances ahead of the summer transfer window.
‎Head coach Hansi Flick has consistently highlighted the winger’s significance within the team. The former Leeds United player plays a central role in Flick’s tactical setup and is regarded as an influential figure in the dressing room. Flick recently praised his commitment, stating that Raphinha always gives maximum effort both in matches and training, adding that his return from a difficult period is important for the squad.
‎For now, Barcelona will wait to see if a formal proposal arrives from Saudi Arabia. While Raphinha is not viewed as a player the club is eager to sell, an offer of €90 million would represent a considerable profit on the €58 million paid to Leeds United in 2022. As the summer window approaches, Barcelona could be forced to decide between maintaining a key performer and addressing financial needs.
