Michael Olise Emerges as World’s Best Winger Amid Transfer Speculation

‎The performances of Michael Olise at Bayern Munich have placed him among the most talked-about players in world football, with reports suggesting a valuation of £170 million ($229m). Despite links to England, Louis Saha has indicated that his future could take a different direction.

‎Olise’s rise began at Reading before he stepped into the Premier League with Crystal Palace in 2021. His performances there over three seasons attracted Bayern, who secured his signature in 2024 for £52 million ($70m).
‎His move to the Allianz Arena coincided with involvement at senior level for France national football team, and he quickly experienced domestic success by winning the Bundesliga title alongside players such as Harry Kane.
‎The 24-year-old has since elevated his game further. After achieving over 20 appearances in a single campaign for the first time in 2024-25, he has repeated that milestone while registering 26 assists across all competitions, underlining his influence in attack.
‎Those figures have driven claims that Olise ranks among the elite in his position. Bayern, aware of increasing attention, have attached a valuation reaching €200 million as a deterrent to interested clubs.
‎Among those linked are Liverpool, who are believed to be planning for the future beyond Mohamed Salah. Yet Saha believes a move back to England may not be imminent.
‎He suggested that while only a limited number of clubs could finance such a transfer, Spain could present a more likely destination. Having already experienced English football and now excelling in Germany, Olise may instead continue his journey elsewhere.
‎Saha also reflected on Olise’s style, drawing comparisons to Franck Ribéry. He praised the winger’s ability to create space, beat defenders on either side, and consistently deliver key passes.
‎The former striker emphasized Olise’s balance, creativity, and effectiveness in linking play, particularly in combination with attacking teammates. His evolution into a decisive performer has been a key factor in Bayern’s success.
‎Looking toward the future, Olise is being discussed as a contender for the 2026 Ballon d’Or. Success in major competitions could strengthen his chances, with Bayern currently involved in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League and aiming to overturn a 5-4 deficit against Paris Saint-Germain.
‎On the international stage, France national football team—led by Kylian Mbappé—are widely viewed as strong contenders for World Cup glory, offering Olise another platform to enhance his reputation.
