Robert Lewandowski has admitted he could consider a move to a “lower league” if he leaves FC Barcelona this summer, as uncertainty grows around his future at the club.
The Polish striker, who recently celebrated winning his second consecutive La Liga title with Barcelona, is approaching the final stages of his current contract. Reports have linked him with a potential move to Major League Soccer (MLS), with clubs such as the Chicago Fire mentioned as possible destinations.

Lower League Possibility on the Table
During Barcelona’s title celebrations following their win over Real Madrid, Lewandowski acknowledged that a new chapter in a less demanding competition could be possible.
Speaking to Polish television channel Eleven Sports, he explained:
"There could be an option in a lower league. I'm almost 38, but I feel good physically, so I'm considering it. I have to take into account the possibility that it's time to play and enjoy life. Perhaps that option will arise, and I'm not ruling it out,"
The striker, who has also been linked with MLS side Chicago Fire FC, made it clear that he is open-minded about his next step.
Contract Situation Remains Uncertain
Lewandowski’s future at Barcelona is still unresolved, with reports suggesting he has been offered a contract extension at a reduced salary.
He added:
"What will I do in the fall? I don't know. I just found out I have 51 days left on my contract, so I still have time. I'll listen to a few more offers and then decide,"
The striker remains in a reflection period as multiple possibilities continue to emerge.
A Career Built on Success
Despite uncertainty about the future, Lewandowski took time to reflect on his achievements. Having previously played for Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, he highlighted his consistent trophy-winning record.
He said:
"I've won a total of 14 championships, I've won them with every club, that impresses me a lot and I'm proud of it,"
Response to Szczesny’s Retirement Advice
Lewandowski also responded humorously to comments from compatriot and Barcelona teammate Wojciech Szczęsny, who had suggested he consider retirement.
Laughing off the suggestion, he replied:
"You know how Wojtek is: today he says one thing, tomorrow he'll say another. It's not like I wake up in the morning with aches and pains. I appreciate where I am and I enjoy it. We'll see what happens, but what's clear is that I'm going to keep playing."
