'There’s Someone Behind This': Federico Valverde Rejects Fight Claims With Aurelien Tchouameni After Hospital Visit

‎Federico Valverde has responded to reports linking his recent hospital admission to an alleged physical confrontation with teammate Aurelien Tchouameni at Real Madrid’s Valdebebas training centre.

‎The Uruguayan midfielder dismissed claims that punches were exchanged between the pair, explaining instead that emotions escalated during training amid a difficult season for the club. Valverde stated that the situation had been exaggerated after internal tensions became public.
‎Rumours emerged earlier this week suggesting Valverde suffered a head injury during a clash with Tchouameni that later required hospital treatment. The midfielder, however, used social media to reject those accusations and clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident.
‎According to the 27-year-old, disagreements arose during training because of frustration and exhaustion accumulated throughout the campaign. He stressed that incidents of this nature are not unusual within dressing rooms and are normally resolved privately.
‎Writing on Instagram, Valverde said: “Yesterday I had an incident with a teammate during a training session. Fatigue from competition and frustration made everything blown out of proportion.”
‎He continued by suggesting that someone inside the environment had leaked information regarding the disagreement, adding that the pressure surrounding a season without trophies had intensified public attention around the matter.
‎Valverde also explained how his injury occurred. The midfielder revealed that another argument took place later and that he accidentally struck his forehead against a table, causing a cut that required a routine hospital visit.
‎The midfielder admitted that the emotional strain of the campaign contributed to the situation. Real Madrid were recently eliminated from the Champions League and remain at risk of ending the season without silverware.
‎In his statement, Valverde apologised for the fallout created by the incident and acknowledged the damage caused to his image. He said the frustration of seeing the team struggle toward the end of the season led to the disagreement becoming more serious than it should have been.
‎The Uruguayan also insisted that any issues between teammates disappear once they step onto the pitch. He reaffirmed his commitment to the club and stressed that he would always defend the team inside the stadium.
‎Valverde added that he had originally intended to remain silent until the season ended following the club’s Champions League exit. He explained that he preferred to focus his energy on performances on the field rather than responding publicly online.
‎The midfielder also expressed disappointment over missing the upcoming match because of medical decisions, saying it hurt him deeply after giving everything possible throughout the campaign.
‎Meanwhile, Real Madrid confirmed that disciplinary proceedings have been opened involving both Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni. Reports indicate the two midfielders are expected to miss this weekend’s El Clasico clash against FC Barcelona.
