'You’re a Disgrace, Get Out!': Christophe Dugarry Launches Furious Attack on Mason Greenwood

A damaging 3-0 defeat to FC Nantes has intensified criticism surrounding Mason Greenwood, with former Olympique de Marseille striker Christophe Dugarry delivering a fierce public attack on the forward.

Greenwood, signed from Manchester United in July 2024, had enjoyed strong numbers throughout the campaign, producing 25 goals and 10 assists in 43 matches in all competitions. However, recent performances have shifted attention away from those statistics, particularly after Marseille’s latest setback.

As reported by RMC Sport, the English attacker faced severe criticism over his effort levels and commitment. During an appearance on the Rothen s’enflamme podcast, Dugarry questioned Greenwood’s attitude and claimed the club had already gone to great lengths to support him.

“Call for pride. This guy was sidelined, made a huge mistake before Marseille signed him. Marseille took a risk by bringing him in. He could have never played football again. Everyone has done everything to put this player in the best possible conditions. In games like this, when it matters most, you throw it in people’s faces. I’m ashamed for him - this guy is a disgrace,” the former France international said.

Dugarry also criticised Greenwood’s behaviour during the defeat, accusing him of lacking urgency while Marseille continue their battle for European qualification. The club currently sits seventh in Ligue 1 with 53 points heading into the closing stages of the season.

“You are the leader of this team, everyone depends on you. When you’re not there, everyone feels your absence. And what do you give back after all those sacrifices? This? You’re a disgrace, get out. That’s the money you’ll make for the club, but no one will cry for you. What he did against Nantes is shameful. I saw him walking around. At times I just looked at him and he was pretending. He doesn’t care,” Dugarry continued.

Only two league matches remain for Marseille, starting with an away game against Le Havre AC before a final-day meeting with Stade Rennais FC. Greenwood will be expected to respond quickly as Marseille attempt to secure European football.
